Stephen Bullock discussed plans for Miller following its purchase by Power Curbers

Q: What are the plans for the business following the Miller acquisition?

A: We will continue manufacturing Miller Formless machines in McHenry, Illinois. We will focus on core products, the M 1000, 8100, and 8800.

Q: How will Miller be incorporated into Power Curbers?

A: Miller Formless will continue to stand alone in manufacturing. Our sales teams and product-support teams will be cross-trained to provide sales and service to all products. You will see the Miller Formless name included with Power Curbers and Power Pavers, all under the Power Curbers Companies umbrella.

Q: What are the plans for the Miller facility? What are its strengths?

A: We will continue operating in McHenry, in Illinois. We have a great team of dedicated, long-time Miller employees who are excited about the new opportunity in partnership with Power Curbers Companies.

Q: How will production of Power Curbers/Power Pavers and Miller machines be changing following the purchase? Will certain models or components be made at one plant or another?

A: Other than fully supplying Miller Formless with all the parts stock and materials needed, we will not make major production changes. As we’ve done for decades with Power Curbers and Power Pavers, we’ll have opportunities to supply each other with components, depending upon capacity at each location.

Q: How will the Miller machines be adapted to standardise with models from Power Curbers?

A: We will continue to build the 1000, 8100, 8800 to the specifications that Miller Formless owners have valued for decades.

Q: What features of the Miller technology will be of benefit to the Power Curbers range, looking ahead?

A: We have respected Miller Formless machines for decades. The core of Power Curbers products and Miller Formless products will not change. We, of course, will look to add features from one machine to another if it can improve the machine and make the customer more productive.

Q: Which Miller models offer the best opportunity for sales outside of the US?

A: The M-8800 is already an extremely popular barrier wall machine in Europe. We expect to double 8800 sales within two years, and in select markets where compact size is important for curbing, the M-1000 will be a great fit.

Q: How is the relationship between Power Curbers and Miller now?

A: Power Curbers and Miller Formless were friendly competitors for five decades. We’ve always had great respect for the machines and for Miller’s outstanding service to customers. The culture fit could not have been better and has made for a smooth integration. Our teams are excited to work together as one company to better provide solutions to contractors. With the addition of the Miller Formless products, Power Curbers Companies can now offer machines from our small 150 extruder to our Power Pavers 3404 DBI mainline paver and everything in between. That makes for a line-up that no other slipform manufacturer can match.
