A series of road and bridge construction works are being planned in Norway. The most pressing work will be to make repairs to a bridge on the E6 route that spans Badder Fjord. The stretch of the E6 linking Kvænangen and Finnmark in Northern Norway has had to be closed following damage to the bridge caused by flooding. Drivers now face a lengthy detour via Finland to the south by road instead. While there is a minor road running around the fjord, this is not suited to heavy vehicles.
Meanwhile, the contractor PNC Norway will carry out work for a new bridge in Drammen. The structure will replace an old bridge that has been in use for 85 years and is no longer fit for purpose. Work is due to commence in the third quarter of 2022 and the link should be ready for use in the third quarter of 2025.
And the contractor NCC will carry out work on the stretch of county road 562 that connects Lavik with Haugland on Askøy in Vestland County. The firm will install 7,000m3 of concrete to support for four bridges and the road section. The work will commence in the third quarter of 2022 and should be complete in the third quarter of 2025.
