Construction work is underway in India for a new bridge that will span the River Ganges. The bridge will feature three lanes and will be 3.2km in length, connecting Buxar in Bihar State with Bharauli in Uttar Pradesh State.
The bridge will provide a new connection between the NH-922 and the Purvanchal Expressway. The bridge will feature a 1.2km central span and the 3.2km structure will rest on 40 supports, of which eight will be located in the river itself while the remaining 32 supports hold up the 2km approaches.
