Construction of a highway in Denmark will provide improved connectivity for the island of Egholm. The island is located in a channel close to the city of Aalborg. Construction of the new four lane highway will improve transport to and from the island, replacing the existing ferry service. The new route will also provide an important bypass for Aalborg, allowing traffic to travel around the city and reducing journey times. There are concerns over the cost of the project, as highlighted in a study by the Danish Road Directorate.
