Construction work is being planned for a new connecting road that will link Algeria’s historic city of Guelma with the East-West Highway. Work on the project was halted previously.
Located in Algeria’s North East and around 65km from the coast, Guelma is the capital of Guelma Province and Guelma District.
Meanwhile, road improvement and maintenance works have been carried out in Médéa. Work has been carried out to a 10km stretch of the 4th bypass linking Djendel (Ain-Defla) to Hannacha. A further 12km section of the road between Hannacha and Bouaichoune will be ready by March 2026. Widening work for a 73km stretch of national road (RN) 127 linking El-Ayoune (Tissemsilt) to Ksar-El-Boukhari is also being carried out.
Widening work is also being carried out for two stretches of RN 5 and RN 27. For RN 5, 16km of widening works will be carried out between Tadjenanet and Chelghoum-Laïd while RN 27 will benefit from 8km of widening work between Constantine and Grarem-Gouga.
