Financing is being secured for the ring road project around Kazakhstan’s capital, Almaty. Much of the necessary funding will come via the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).
The Big Almaty Ring Road (BAKAD) project will benefit from US$135 million of funding from the EDB. The funding will be provided in stages, with the first payments now being supplied.
The BAKAD project is being handled under a concession package and will improve transport around Kazakhstan’s capital. The concession was awarded to a consortium comprising Alsim Alarko Sanayi Tesisleri ve Ticaret, Makyol Insaat Sanayi Turizm ve Ticaret, SK Engineering & Construction and Korea Expressway Corporation.
