Interest was also strong for the exhibition portion of the event

Partha Pratim Basistha took a look at the major exhibition showcasing solutions on safety, sustainable road construction and rehabilitation at the 18th IRF event

Micro surfacing solutions was one of the major exhibits at the IRF exhibition among other products.

Sharing details with World Highways on the utility of micro surfacing solutions, Debatosh Roy, director, Innovative Infratech from India said, “The solution is technically more competitive than hot-mix as it is almost 30% cheaper than the latter. Further, the solution is most ideal to be used inside the cities and towns. This is because being a cold application it comes with zero emissions. Being a cold application, it does away with the issues of right temperature retention for getting the right compaction by the contractors.” The company also showed its Esmac Pr, ready-mix pothole repair compound and VSS Macropavers.

Indian micro surfacing and slurry seal paver maker Tashimicromac, shared information on its TMS 10K paver. Speaking on the competitive attributes of the paver, Manish Agarwal, technical director, Tashi Micro Surfacing Systems said, “The TMS 10K is a paver that comes with a range of advanced features. This includes an additive dosing system and simplified user-friendly spreader box, in addition to the chemical resistant stainless steel additive tank, additive and water pipelines and pneumatically operated flow control valves. The systems ensure the lowest levels of interference in paver operations. This also makes it easier for semi-skilled operators to work on the machine.”

Crafco showed its solutions for pavement crack minimisation. “The solutions deliver total life cycle costs as its bonds fully with the pavement, being elastic in composition. This is contrary to concrete compounds which develop cracks,” said Tim Morris, regional sales manager International Group, Crafco. Crafco’s solutions are sealants, patches and joints for concrete pavements.

Indian road safety solutions supplier, Avantech Engineering Consortium displayed the Cass wire rope safety barriers, metal beam crash barrier, impact attenuators and end terminals manufactured under license in India from Trinity Highway Products in the US. “Wire rope crash barriers are versatile and offer a low impact severity. The other advantage is that the resistance of a wire rope crash barrier is bidirectional. However, when a wire rope crash barrier is to be installed to offer protection against a rigid structure such as rock face, concrete structure or trees, sufficient lateral clearance must be provided” said Parampreet Singh, chief executive, Avantech. The Cass wire rope safety barrier has been supplied by Avantech to Mumbai-Pune Express Way in Western India and Hyderabad Vijaynagar Express Way in South India.
