The tender process is starting for the Requejada-Suances road project in Northern Spain. The project is expected to cost €198 million and provide an improved transport connection between Requejada and Suances in Cantabria, to the West of the city of Santander.
The project has been approved by the Government of Cantabria and will help develop industry and tourism in the Besaya area. Journey times will be reduced and the work is intended to boost development of the area. Construction is expected to commence for the project in 2027. The work is being managed by the Ministry of Development, Housing, Territorial Planning and the Environment.
Also being planned is a new road project to improve the link between Potes and Reinosa. This project is expected to cost €100 million. Located just to the South of Requejada and Suances, the area between Reinosa and Potes is popular with hill walkers, climbers, road cyclists and mountain bikers.
