Denso said its Densoband is a high-performance polymer-modified bitumen strip that is ideal for joint sealing in road and pavement construction.
Durable, flexible and easy to install, Densoband is specifically designed to provide a durable and effective solution for sealing surfaces between asphalt, concrete and steel.
Denso, a corrosion-prevention and sealing-technologies company, said that the product’s excellent adhesion to primed surfaces guarantees a strong bond to asphalt, concrete and steel. It can withstand significant movement caused by heavy traffic loads as well as thermal changes. Its uniform, watertight and flexible seal effectively prevents water ingress, reducing erosion and deterioration of joints over time. All these features ensure that projects maintain their structural integrity while minimising the risk of damage from environmental factors.
Additionally, Densoband’s exceptional flexibility enables it to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction without cracking or propagating damage, further extending the lifespan of the joint.
Densoband simplifies the installation process with its integrated adhesive system which eliminates the need for flame application. This not only improves safety but also enhances efficiency during installation. The product can be applied by hand or machine, offering versatility to suit various project requirements. Its ability to prevent cracking and damage propagation reduces maintenance costs while significantly extending the lifespan of joints.
Densoband requires minimal maintenance over time, saving valuable resources and ensuring cost-effectiveness for infrastructure projects. It also performs reliably across a wide range of climates, with an application temperature range of 5°C to 45°C. Furthermore, its cold bend behaviour ensures no cracking occurs at 0°C, making it dependable even in extreme cold conditions.
