The new bypass around Costa R ica’s capital,San Jose, is now close to completion. The Northern Ring Road (Circunvalacion Norte) is around 80% complete now and should be ready to use by drivers in September 2021 as long as the current productivity is maintained and there are no unforeseen issues.
Some US$163 million is required in financing for the project, which is receiving its backing through a loan delivered by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI). This is one of several road improvement projects for Costa Rica ongoing at present.
