Construction is underway for the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway in India and is due for completion in mid-2026. The 263km expressway project is behind schedule and was originally due for completion in 2023. The project will improve transport links for Bengaluru, reducing the journey times to Chennai.
The 72km stretch between Bengaluru and Bethamangala is already complete, as is the 29km section linking Bangarupalem and Gudipala. The section between Sundarpalya and Byreddypalli and the 24km stretch between Gudipala and Walajahpet should be ready by late 2025.
The 57km section between Arakkonam and Sriperumbudur should be ready in early 2026, with the stretch between Byreddypalli and Bangarupalem being finished last in mid-2026.
