The Czech transport ministry has issued a building permit for another section of the D35 motorway.
The section is part of the grade-separated junction with the D11 near Hradec Králové to Sadová. Work on the 7.5km long section is due to begin in 2024 and will connect to the section from Sadová to Horice, which will start in 2023.
Cost of the project is estimated at €95.2 million.
In August, the government gave the green light for the10.3km litomysl-Janov section of the D35. Work is expected to start on the section, essentially a bypass of the town of Litomysl, next year at an estimated cost of nearly €178 million.
Once all 260km of the D35 motorway– formerly Expressway R35 – are completed it will be the second longest highway in the Czech Republic, running from Úlibice to the D1 at the town of Lipník nad Bečvou. It is designed to be an alternative route to the D1 motorway between Prague and Olomouc and Ostrava.
