The mechanical engineering company (HAZEMAG is one of the pioneers in the production of machinery and plant for the raw materials processing, mining, power station and drilling industries) employs some 400 staff in Germany and abroad.

A German car salesman recently decided to propose to his girlfriend in a somewhat unusual manner. The man arranged the vehicles in the car lot where he worked so that they would spell out the important question and he then flew over the site on a romantic aerial trip with her. Despite her surprise, the woman accepted the offer. The cars have since been parked in a more conventional manner.

Gomaco has just added an optional hydraulically-folding rear conveyor belt to its versatile 9500 material handling machine. The company says the new feature on the machine, which can take on work as a trimmer, concrete and asphalt placer, and a shoulder trimmer, makes it easier to transport. It allows the conveyor to remain attached to the 9500 during shipping. The 9500’s shipping length with the new folding rear conveyor is just 12.7metres. Shipping height is 3.5metres. Caterpillar says a new fume extraction system on its latest generation of Pavers will make working operations safer and more comfortable. The new system was recently demonstrated to customers at Caterpillar’s European paver facility at Minerbio in Italy. Independent French research is said by Caterpillar to show that a high percentage of fumes are removed or redirected from the leading construction firm’s new pavers, benefiting not only its operators but screed operators as well.

Work on a major upgrade at a busy German road junction is expected to be completed by the end of 2011. Liebherr’s duty cycle crawler crane was used by a specialist dredging company for dragline application work in Austria. Kiesabbau Wiedemann used the HS 845 HD to extract gravel from the gravel pit of the ARGE S 33 joint venture in Grafenwörth near Vienna.
