Construction projects in North America are facing skills shortages in the near future, according to Jeff Nipper, managing director for Pilosio in Canada. Nipper has built up the Italian manufacturer’s Canadian business based on a consultancy approach – with Pilosio providing advice and design services to the contractor.

VSS Macropaver is introducing an improved version of its successful slurry surfacing equipment, as well as upgraded variants of the mobile Minimac and skid-mounted emulsion plants. Vice president Doug Hogue said that the upgrades to the slurry surfacing machine will increase its performance as well as its ability to handle tough road repair jobs. He said, “We’ve a lot of updates on this machine. One of the big things is the fibre feeding.”

Michelin has launched two additional tyres for backhoe loaders and telescopic handlers. The Power CL, which will go on sale in July this year, is a premium bias ply tyre that can handle the same load capacity as a radial, but at a lower cost.
