The new Chennai tolled ring road project in India is due for completion in late 2025. The 133km Peripheral Ring Road project will link Ennore Port to Poonjeri. This will be the first access-controlled corridor for Chennai.

Meanwhile, a new project is due to commence for a section of NH-766, linking Mysuru-Nanjangud. The project is being managed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). A key aim of the project will be to boost capacity, traffic flow and safety by reducing crashes along this route. Underpasses and overpasses will be built while new markings, signage and junctions will be installed.
