Optronics 360 is said to be the world’s first 360° surround view camera system for mining, quarrying and construction industry vehicles. The ASL Electronics & Vision product was launched at the Hillhead 2012 event in central England by its UK distributors Spillard Safety Systems and TDL Equipment. It is said to have been already proven, under the name ASL 360, in the high end passenger car market.

Atlas Copco’s new BP3050 bulk pulveriser was due to get its UK exhibition debut this month at Hillhead 2012. The Swedish construction industry giants claim that due to the machine’s innovative angled shape, the BP3050 is ideal for a wide array of demolition tasks. It features huge jaw dimensions that facilitate energy efficient high throughput, with speed valves shortening the opening and closing time of the jaws to ensure less fuel consumption during pulveriser operation.

Data from the organisers of the Hillhead quarry show in the UK reveal a 10% jump in visitor attendance. In all a total of more than 17,000 visitors attended Hillhead 2012 compared with 15,500 in 2010. One major exhibitor said that its records show that close to 3,000 people visited its booth alone.
