The 3510 American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (%$Linker: External000AASHTOfalsehttp://www.worldhighways.com/industryindex/companydetails.cfm?companyID=632truefalse%>) and the 2764 International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (%$Linker: External000IBTTAfalsehttp://www.worldhighways.com/industryindex/companydetails.cfm?companyID=101666truefalse%>) have signed a memorandum of understanding that will allow the two organisations to work together in support of road funding and financing tools that help states build and maintain infrastructure.
The MoA was signed by AASHTO president Susan Martinovich and IBTTA president Frank McCartney during the AASHTO Board of Directors policy meeting last week.
The AASHTO Board of Directors must ratify the agreement. A formal proposal on establishing a joint committee with IBTTA will be submitted to the AASHTO Board for approval at the AASHTO Spring Meeting in Traverse City, Michigan. Similar joint committees have been established with Associated General Contractors and American Road & Transportation Builders Association; the American Public Transportation Association; and the American Counsel of Engineering Consultants.
