Granite construction is working on a $78 million contract in CA.

Major highway and bridge contracts have been awarded in California. The work will be carried out by Granite Construction. The firm will work on the US$113 million Cosumnes Bridge Replacement Project in Sacramento County. The company will also carry out the $410 million Highway 101 Carpinteria to Santa Barbara Project. The much-needed Interstate 64 widening project in the US state of Virginia is now getting the go-ahead. The project will be handled jointly by Granite Construction, Parsons and Corman. The three firms are working in a partnership to deliver the project under the design-build model. The work will help reduce congestion and improve traffic flow at peak periods. Two lanes and high occupancy toll lanes will be added to the route, increasing capacity.

A new freeway project is planned in Phoenix, Arizona. The joint venture for this design-build and maintain project will be led by Fluor Corporation. The package of works was awarded by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and is for the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway. This freeway project will be the first procured under Arizona’s public-private-partnership statute.
